What we do
The internet was supposed to be borderless, but content licensing has carved it into territories. A show on Netflix US might not exist on Netflix UK. A Blu-ray from Japan won’t play on a European player. The Premier League is blacked out if you’re outside the UK.
We write clear, tested guides that explain how region locks work and how to work around them — legally, safely, and without overpaying.
How we test
Every VPN review on this site involves hands-on testing. We connect to servers in multiple countries and verify that streaming services actually work — not just that the VPN connects. We test on desktop, mobile, and streaming devices including Amazon Firestick and Apple TV.
We re-test regularly. Streaming services update their VPN detection frequently, so a VPN that worked last month may not work today. Our VPN reviews include a “last verified” date so you know the information is current.
Editorial independence
RegionFree.com earns revenue through affiliate commissions when readers sign up for VPN services through our links. This is how we fund the site — but it never affects our editorial judgement.

Content accuracy
The streaming landscape changes constantly. We use an automated freshness system to flag content that may be outdated, and we re-verify articles on a rolling schedule. Every article displays a “last verified” date. If you spot something that’s no longer accurate, we’d appreciate you letting us know.
